Simply S.O.T.A.Where YOU are a State of Art

      The artist is inspired by the beautiful landscapes and historic landmarks of Newtown and Bucks County.  Working exclusively in watercolor, she captures mood through her treatment of sunlight,  paying particular attention to its effect on color.   Given the fine detail rendered in each scene, coupled with this changing effect of light, she considers her work a combination of realism and impressionism.  Florals are one of her favorite subjects.   Many are painted on masa paper, a Japanese rice paper.  The paint is allowed to flow into the folds of the paper to create a unique effect.   

  Her work has been included in juried shows throughout the area including the Philadelphia Sketch Club, Phillips Mill, and the Trenton Art Museum.

     Judy was born in Windber Pa. received a BS degree in Medical Technology from St. Francis College in Loretto Pa . Art was her first love and she has been painting since she was a child.  She  formally pursued  her art career in 1988 after the birth of her first child.   The artist lives in Newtown with her husband and twochildren.
